ParticipantHey everyone,
Starting my new grow journal here with a mixed batch of genetics from ILGM and Herbies. For this run, I’ve got a mixed lineup:
2 ILGM Zkittlez
2 Herbies Runtz Punch
2 Herbies Grandmommy Purple
1 ILGM Blueberry Hill
Unfortunately, out of the 10 seeds I ordered, 3 never sprouted and 2 didn’t germinate, so I’m working with five plants total. To make it more interesting, the seeds got mixed up and my partner forgot to track the labels — so I can’t tell which strain is which right now 🤷🏽♂️. But they’re all healthy so far, so we move forward!
Grow Setup:
Tent: Vivosun 2×4 Smart Tent
Lighting: AeroLight SE 200W (plus another 100W on the way)
Pots: Currently in 1-gallon containers
Medium: Happy Frog + perlite
Nutrients:
Dry: Dr. Earth Homegrown 4-6-3 (2 tsp per pot every 2 weeks)
Liquid: Silicium + Rhizium (sample pack from Jug Dealers Podcast)
Additives: 1/8 tsp Plant Power Up when watering
Watering:
It’s been raining a lot here, so I’m using stored rainwater whenever possible. I keep mosquito dunks in the water no matter the source. When rainwater runs out, I switch to tap — lucky enough to have consistent pH ~7 and 350–450 PPM, so I don’t usually need to adjust unless I see deficiencies. I’ll pH down occasionally, but generally everything stays stable.Where I Need Advice:
Plants are 27 days from sprout, looking like my best early veg so far (this is my 3rd grow). But I hate plastic pots, and even though the 1-gallon pots are doing well, I want to transplant into 2 or 3-gallon fabric pots.I’m torn between:
Transplant + top + train, or
Leave them in the 1-gallons and let them grow naturally with minimal intervention.
Since the strains are mixed up and unlabeled, part of me wants to keep it simple — but the other part wants to maximize the grow because these genetics came from ILGM and Herbies.
What do you think?
Should I:Transplant now and start training?
Keep them in the 1-gallons and let them ride?
Top them or leave them untouched?
Any advice is welcome — especially from anyone who’s run ILGM or Herbies strains in smaller pots.
Thanks in advance, and happy growing! 🌱💚
